Prior to the American Civil War, African American citizens with expertise and skills in building and engineering had no choice but to work as slaves. Over time, they passed their acumen to their next generations, enabling them to pick up architecture as a viable career option.
For the 2018 calendar year, the employees of Triple Crown Construction voted Cindy Stevens the winner of this award. She took it upon herself to model all the values that make Triple Crown great: integrity, hard work, responsibility, communication, family, and giving back to the community.
In keeping with the Frederick County Office of Economic Development’s assessment that 2018 was a “monster year” for growth in the Frederick area, Triple Crown Construction closed out the calendar year with significant revenue growth that put the company in an excellent position to continue growth in 2019 and beyond.
Triple Crown welcomed eight individuals to the team last year. Each additional team member brings their own specialized experience that makes for a well-rounded and skilled team, from general contracting to engineering.

After three days of networking with 3,000+ attendees, learning about new, innovative uses of the technology, and seeing the development of tools firsthand that will help companies in the areas of hiring, quality and safety, productivity, and more, here are the two biggest takeaways we left with:
Triple Crown founder, Dave Rapp, has officially retired after 25 years of success in the construction and hospitality renovation industry. He began the organization in 1991, and for 27 years he transformed it into a major force in hotel renovations and commercial construction projects. Guided by rock-solid principles and values of quality, fairness, and family, Dave made Triple Crown into a respected name throughout the industry.
In October of this year, to celebrate our second Frederick anniversary, Triple Crown took part in two more events to strengthen our ties with the community: We held a Pumpkin Carving Event with the local ACE Mentor Program chapter and organized a Pedego bike tour throughout downtown Frederick as a team-building exercise.
This October, Triple Crown Construction attended the MHLA Golf Outing at the Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville, MD. Together, they raised $5,000 in educational scholarships for Maryland hotel employees seeking career advancement.
