St. Patrick’s Day, Raising Money, and Springtime Approaching—Bring on the Green!
Triple Crown Construction got in the Irish spirit this March, celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by helping to raise money for one of the most important community organizations in town (while yes, also enjoying some libations)!
Every year the Rotary Club of Frederick hosts the Leprechaun Luau (often shortened to the quicker-off-the-tongue and easier-to-say-between-sips “LepLu”), a one-night event that offers live music, plentiful food and drink, prize giveaways, and more, all to raise money for the club through ticket sales and sponsorships. LepLu is the signature fundraising event of The Rotary Club of Frederick, one of the largest and most active service clubs in the area. Established in 1920, the Rotary Club of Frederick has funded dozens of projects that have helped make the Frederick community a better place to live and work.
The TCC team attended this year’s LepLu on March 2nd to support the organization and connect with other members of the Frederick community, and the night was a huge success—over $63,000 was raised that will help the Rotary Club of Frederick fund future community-focused initiatives, which brings the total amount raised from the last eight years of LepLu events just shy of a staggering $400,000!
The Triple Crown team had a blast at LepLu—there was terrific food from both Irish and South Pacific culinary traditions, enough margaritas to keep everyone dancing all night (and non-alcoholic beverages for those who preferred them), music by a pair of bands—the 19th Street Band and Two of the Four!—a photo booth, and a silent auction.
Of course, one of the biggest moments of the night was the grand prize drawing—a trip for two to Ireland! Everyone who bought a ticket to LepLu was entered for a chance, and additional drawing tickets were sold throughout the night. While none of the Triple Crown Construction family took home (or should we say, took to Ireland) the grand prize, a great time was had by all who attended to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and give back to a community institution. Until next year!
Building Connections to Build Better Homes
Also in March was the Frederick County Building Industry Association’s (FCBIA) 44th annual Home Show and Builder Olympics! The show took place on March 16-17 this year and is always a great opportunity for local professionals to network with others in various home building and construction fields such as new home building, home improvement, landscaping, decorating, smart energy, and more. The two-day event provides a central place for experts to share ideas, products, and insights, and build connections that will help grow their businesses and help one another.
As a member of the FCBIA, Triple Crown was happy to volunteer a few of its team members—TCC President Chris Rapp and Construction Operations Manager Greg Maciulla—to help run the booth of the local chapter of the ACE Mentor Program at the Home Show. Triple Crown is a proud partner of ACE, helping to bring awareness to their programs and the amazing projects the students take part in each year, and jumped at the chance to give them a hand here.
We also want to give a shout-out to the fantastic spring showcase from Hawkins Landscaping, Inc.—something we’ve come to expect from them! As usual, Hawkins provided the Home Show with bountiful bouquets of flowers for attendees to feast their eyes on, creating some wonderful landscape backgrounds.
Finally, our thanks to the ladies of FCBIA: Donna Kraft, Denise Jacoby and Sarah Harne. Their hard work, organization and planning all culminated in another fantastic showing and successful 44th year!
